Meet Therapist Luis Gomez.
Luis is the Co-founder of Larchmere Center for Well Being and oversees the everyday operations of the practice along with Ben Zimmer.
Luis is also a therapist and is a Licensed Social Worker. I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have completed Part 1 and Part 2 training in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR). I’m excited to integrate DBR into my work with clients, while continuing to use EMDR to support deeper, body-based processing of trauma.
Luis works exclusively with adults.
Hello, my name is Luis Gomez (pronounced as loo-EEs) and I use he/him pronouns.
I am a therapist at Larchmere Center for Well-being. I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and my clinical practice is greatly influenced by the Adaptive Information Processing model.
My heritage language is Spanish which I can speak, write, and understand; however, I wouldn’t consider myself fluent in Spanish.
My therapeutic style is
warm
engaging
interactive
process-oriented
collaborative
I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for my clients as they work toward greater self-knowledge and healing. My goal in therapy is to help my clients feel seen, heard, and validated, as well as challenged to see new perspectives.
I integrate a variety of theories and interventions to meet the evolving needs of my clients.
As a Queer Latino therapist who immigrated to the United States, I have a historical and conceptual understanding of the personal, interpersonal, and societal challenges people of color, LGBTQ folks, and Immigrant’s experience and how these challenges impact them as individuals and as a group.
I have special interest in working with client’s dealing with issues such as:
trauma recovery
family dynamics
self-compassion
life transitions
self-worth
